CHOREOGRAPHY LAB
JULY 14-16, 2026
Step into the role of a choreographer in Studio 3 Choreography Lab, a hands-on intensive designed for teens and adults (ages 12+) who are ready to move beyond learning choreography—and start creating it.
Over three exciting evenings, students will learn how to build engaging, story-driven choreography for musical theatre. We’ll explore how to create movement that feels original and intentional (not just matching the lyrics), while using formations, transitions, and staging to bring performances to life.
This workshop is highly interactive—participants will create and teach their own choreography, collaborate with peers, and receive real-time feedback in a supportive environment.
In today’s world, performers who can create, teach, and lead have a huge advantage. Strong choreographers are always in demand for studios, schools, and productions—and this workshop is designed to give students the tools and confidence to start developing those skills now.
Activities may include:
• Creating original choreography for musical theatre
• Learning how to build movement beyond literal lyrics
• Using formations, spacing, and transitions effectively
• Storytelling through movement and character
• Teaching choreography to peers
• Setting a short piece with guided feedback
• Collaboration and creative problem-solving
The workshop will conclude with an in-studio showcase during the final 30 minutes on the last day, where participants will share the pieces they’ve created.
